Q: What is the “Best of East Valley”?
A: It’s a reader poll designed to let you share all the wonderful things you like about living here, from your favorite pizza place to the best spot to wear out the kids on a Saturday afternoon. It’s the only reader poll conducted by local media that zeros in exclusively on the East Valley, the place where we live and play.

Q: How does it work?
A: You log onto this website and vote for your favorite local people, places and things day after day until voting closes on March 25th. Voting is online only.

Q: How many times may I vote?
A: You may vote once per day per category. If you try to outfox us with fancy e-mail address trickery, you – and all your votes – will be disqualified.

Q: Who determines the winners?
A: East Valley Tribune staff will determine the winners by counting valid reader votes. The candidates with the most votes win. We’ll also be making some “Staff Pick” selections based on our collective knowledge of living in and covering the East Valley day in and day out.

Q: Just where is the East Valley, anyway?
A: For the purposes of this contest, the East Valley is limited to the cities of Apache Junction, Chandler, Gilbert, Gold Canyon, Mesa, Queen Creek and Tempe.

Q: May I vote for a nominee outside of the East Valley?
A: No. The contest is called Best of the East Valley because we want to uncover and celebrate all the great people, places and things the East Valley has to offer. Votes for nominees with addresses outside of Apache Junction, Chandler, Gilbert, Gold Canyon, Mesa, Queen Creek and Tempe will be disqualified.

Q: Who should I vote for?
A: That’s up to you. Just keep it in the East Valley and keep it clean, folks.

Q: What if I have more questions?
A: E-mail us at
